FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR ANCESTORS || LAST BATH EXPERIENCE || RECLAIM YOUR IDENTITY
(Dress code: All White – Bring an additional outfit to change into after the Ceremony)
Leave the hotel Early morning after breakfast and proceed to Cape Coast where Europeans first captured Africans to be sold into Slavery. En route we will visit 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙤 𝘼𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧. An emotional stop at Assin Manso, a prominent town along the enslaved African trade route where so many of our ancestors from the northern parts of Ghana, Burkina Faso and Niger were marched bare foot in shackles heading towards the coast. The town surrounds the “Donkor Nsuo” (Slave River). This river is where enslaved Africans were checked for fitness and bathed before being transported to Cape Coast for shipment to the Americas.
Afterwards, you will RECLAIM your Identity back through your traditional Naming Ceremony, Meet the Chief and Elders, and get your African Name with your certificate, and African Kame Kente Sash.
We continue to Cape Coast. Our Journey is dedicated to honoring our ancestors, at Cape Coast Castle which is an emotional, thought provoking monument to a harrowing period in our history. Quality time will be dedicated here on an educational and spiritual journey visiting all corners of this castle that kept more enslaved Africans captive than any other in West Africa. Spend time with traditional Priest for your return and Ancestral Reconnect. Later you will RELAX at Lemon Lounge for your Lunch before we return back to Accra.
